One-to-one NDIS mentorship that helps your loved one build confidence, set goals and take real steps towards a more independent life.

Your loved one is paired with a mentor who takes the time to listen, encourage and cheer them on. It’s a trusted relationship where they can talk openly, ask questions and feel genuinely supported.

We help break big goals into small, achievable steps. Whether it’s finding work, moving out, learning to travel independently or joining a club, your mentor helps turn ideas into a clear plan and keeps momentum going.

Mentors help participants find their voice. This means practising how to speak up, make choices, ask for help and stand up for themselves in everyday situations, from appointments to social settings.

From managing money and using public transport to planning a week and keeping a routine, mentors coach participants through the everyday skills that lead to independence, at a pace that feels comfortable.

A mentor can introduce your loved one to new people, places and opportunities. Together they can explore local groups, volunteering, classes and community events that match their interests.

You’ll receive regular updates on what’s been worked on, what’s gone well and what’s coming next. You’ll see the progress your loved one is making, one step at a time.
Everyone needs someone in their corner. For people living with disability, having a consistent, encouraging mentor can change how they see themselves and what they believe is possible. Mentorship isn’t about doing things for someone. It’s about walking alongside them while they learn to do things for themselves.
Kaya Disability Support is a locally operated provider based in Paralowie, delivering mentorship across Adelaide’s northern suburbs and surrounding areas. Our team started Kaya after experiencing disability within our own families, so we know how much of a difference the right person can make.
Each mentoring relationship is built around the individual. We take time to understand your loved one’s strengths, interests, challenges and dreams, then shape sessions around what matters most to them. Progress is never rushed, and every small win is celebrated.
Every mentor is screened and trained in disability support. We carefully match each participant with someone whose experience and personality suit them, and we work with families to follow any behaviour support, health or communication plans already in place.
Starting mentorship with Kaya is simple, and we keep it easy to manage as your loved one’s goals grow. Here’s what to expect.
Call us or send an enquiry to tell us about your loved one and what they’d like to work towards. We’ll have an easy conversation about their goals, strengths and the kind of support that would help.
We meet with you and your loved one to talk about their interests, hopes and any support needs. Together we agree on goals and write a clear mentorship plan, so everyone knows what we’re working towards.
We pair your loved one with a mentor whose skills and personality are a good fit. Where possible, we arrange an introduction first, so the relationship starts from a place of comfort and trust.
We check in regularly to look at what’s working and celebrate achievements. As goals are met or priorities shift, we update the plan so your loved one always has something meaningful to aim for.
For NDIS participants, mentorship is commonly funded through Capacity Building supports, such as Improved Daily Living or Increased Social and Community Participation. In some plans it may also be supported through Core Supports, depending on the goals and funding in your plan.
The cost depends on how often sessions run, how long they are, the time of day and the level of support needed. Our rates follow the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, so you’ll never be charged more than the NDIS allows.
Every plan is different, so we’ll go through yours with you before support starts and explain how mentorship fits within your funding. There are no hidden fees and no surprises on your statements.

Our team understands disability from the inside of family life, which shapes how we listen and how we mentor.

We take time to pair your loved one with someone who suits their personality, interests and goals.

Every plan is led by your loved one’s own hopes, so progress feels meaningful and motivating.

You’ll have a direct contact at Kaya and regular updates, so you always know how things are going.
Mentorship is one-to-one support where a trained mentor helps a person with disability build confidence, develop life skills and work towards personal goals. It focuses on growing independence rather than simply providing care.
We’re based in Paralowie and provide mentorship across Adelaide’s northern suburbs and surrounding areas. Contact us to confirm we can support you at your location.
In many cases, yes. Mentorship is often funded through Capacity Building supports, and sometimes Core Supports, depending on your goals. We can look at your plan with you before support begins.
Mentorship suits people who want to build independence, confidence or social connection. This includes young people leaving school, adults looking to take the next step, and anyone who would benefit from a consistent, encouraging guide.
Sessions can happen at home, out in the community or at a location that suits your loved one. Many participants enjoy practising skills in real-life settings, like shops, cafés or public transport.
That depends on your goals and funding. Some participants meet weekly, others fortnightly or monthly. We’ll help you find a schedule that works for your loved one and your family.
Yes, wherever possible. A strong mentoring relationship grows from trust and familiarity, so we aim to keep the same mentor throughout.
Absolutely. We’re happy to coordinate with other providers, therapists and family members, and to follow any behaviour support, health or communication plans already in place.
There’s no set timeframe. Some people work towards one specific goal over a few months, while others benefit from ongoing support as new goals emerge. We review the plan regularly so it stays relevant.
Call us on 0402 189 482 or send an enquiry through our contact page. Tell us a little about your loved one and what they’d like to achieve, and we’ll arrange a time to talk and plan.
